1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
The vast majority of believers kept by the power of God never realize that power in their lives. A simple statement but one that is proved day after day as we look at the condition of the church in these last days. The church seems powerless, Christians seem powerless, there seems to be no power of God […]
Matt 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Still thinking this morning of the power of God. I wonder how many Christian, myself included, have no idea of the real power of God? The disciples knew of the power of God, Daniel knew of the power of God, Elijah knew of the power of God, but how many really know of that power of God today? Precious few […]
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Most of the time we take “Power” for granted until we are without it. Yesterday as a result of the storms that went through our area we were without electricity, without power for about twelve hours. Every time I would walk into a room I […]
Matt 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Listening to the thunder is the distance as more storms are coming through our area today. According to the news there will be light rains, followed by heavy rains with lighting, and then lighter rains as the evening draws to a […]
Gen 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Matt 24:32-33 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Another summer begins today, or yesterday it began. I […]
John 18:4-7 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of […]
Gen 4:9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
The question God asked of Cain was one of “What have you done”? God knew where Able was, knew what Cain had done, and now it was time to answer for it. At time I wonder what was going on in the mind of Cain for he had to know this could not be hidden for […]
Gen 18:10-14 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my […]
Gen 3:6-9 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
1 Kings 19:9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?
God never asks a question just for the sake of it, there is always a point to that question. Elijah was a man of God, a prophet, and one who had not only given the Word of God to the people but stood and battled for the truth […]
