John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Two more young people, both age 10 believed this eternal truth that God loves them, sent Jesus Christ to die for them, and wants to save all who will repent and call upon Him yesterday at our VBS. What a thrill to listen to each of them in their own words with head […]
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
A young lady about ten years old came up to me yesterday at VBS and with a big smile upon her face announced “I just got saved”! What a blessing to know that God still honors His Word, that the gospel message is for all and […]
1 Sam 1:28 Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.
“He worshipped the Lord” is in reference who was about five years of age I believe when he was brought to Eli to serve in the tabernacle. (He would have been no older than eight.) So many today try and justify not bringing their children to church, not bringing them […]
Matt 19:13-15 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.
A good beginning to our VBS yesterday and we pray the Lord give us a good day as well. Our junior […]
Our VBS begins this morning and we see the desire of Jesus in our text, to touch the little children. That […]
2 Tim 3:15-17 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
There has never been a day in the history of man that verse […]
Prov 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
A wise saying or a promise, which is it? A wise saying for sure because we find it in the book of Proverbs. But if this is a promise why then do so many from Christian homes, why do so many who were taken to church by their parents fall away from the Lord? The problem will […]
Prov 1:8-10 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
A proverb is a wise saying, but the book of Proverbs is much more than that. These wise sayings, the one we find in the Bible, are the inspired Word of God. We need remember […]
Prov 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
How is it that a child is left to himself? Most parents would say that does not apply to them today. They have their children in baseball, football, wrestling, cheerleading, softball, anything and everything all the time. They are always on the run going to practices, games, programs and the like. It seems they have time for everything except church and […]
Matt 19:13-14 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Our Vacation Bible School at Cherry Corner Bible Church starts one week from today so for this week we will be looking at children in the Bible. Several years ago we went […]
