August 12th, 2015 by Pastor Solley1 Cor 3:12-13 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
“Under construction”. Depending upon the circumstances those can be the most dreaded words one can encounter, or words one likes to hear. I am building a wood shop at our home and I like to build, so those words are good words in that circumstance. But when traveling down the road when I see those words they are not good words, they are dreaded words. Yet those two words, under construction, are stamped upon each and everyone of our lives. We live in this world as builders, building a life, building a marriage, building a family, we live in this world as builders. But is what we are building going to last? I am making my wood shop as strong as possible so it will last the summer and winter storms. What of our lives, are we building something that will last? And not just for the seventy or so years we may live in this world, but something that will last for eternity, or at least something that will give to us something that will last for eternity. The Bible says much about building something that will last and over the next few days we will look at that. Remember, the day is coming when your building will be revealed. (Verse 13)
