2 Tim 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

As the Apostle Paul neared the expected end of his life, he was awaiting execution for his faith and testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ, he had his eye on yet another crown. This time he was looking for the crown of righteousness, one reserved for those who are ready for and loving the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ. Is it possible to be saved, to be living a life that would win the incorruptible crown and the crown of rejoicing and still not be ready for or loving the return of Jesus Christ? The answer to that question is yes. There are many who simply go through the motions of the Christian life and even service for the Lord, yet without a true love for the Lord Jesus Christ. They do things because they have to or believe that it is expected from them, yet there are hidden things in their hearts and they have a love for the world that is deep seated to the point they love the world more than they love Jesus. There are things that I will do for my wife, not things she asks me to do or even expects me to do, but I do them because I love her. When I do such things I can’t wait for her to see them, not to be thanked or praised, but so she will know that I do appreciate her. I love her appearing so she can see that I was active with her in mind. We need to want Jesus to come and see what we are doing for Him, see how we are living for Him from the heart, see how we are serving Him. Do you love His appearing today?
