July 23rd, 2015 by Pastor SolleyActs 9:4-6 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Where does all this kicking against the pricks, kicking against the Lord, kicking against Christ, kicking against the Bible, where does it get people? The more telling question would be, what does it get people.? In the end eternity in hell. Jesus Christ is standing before all people, every nation, creed, tribe, all people. Christ draws all to Him and His free gift of salvation. (John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.) I am not sure why this is so difficult to understand for some people, Christ died for all, wants all to be saved, and all can be saved. (2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.) One must conclude that all can be saved, Christ wants all to be saved, and thus draws all to His salvation. But not all will be saved, some kick against the pricks their entire life. What does it get them? Look at the miserable lives people lead, the empty lives, the broken homes and broken hearts, look in the faces of the people we see every day and we see what kicking against the pricks gets people. Isn’t it about time we stopped kicking and started listening to God?
