Eph 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Col 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.
One of the great problems of our day is time, there doesn’t seem to be enough of it. We have so many things today that are supposed to save time, yet we never seem to have enough time. The problem with time is that we often waste so much of it. The home PC is there […]
Ps 77:1-12 I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me. 2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted. 3 I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah. 4 Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak. 5 I have […]
2 Sam 23:4 And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.
“A clear shining after rain.” Spent a wonderful morning today in the woods with my son hunting turkeys. I was able to listen to a gobbler for almost an hour in a tree just in front of me, I could see him stretch and gobble, […]
Jonah 1:1-9 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. 3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the Lord, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: so he paid the fare thereof, and went down into it, to go with them unto […]
Read Psalm 127
We were able to spend most of this past week in NC with our daughter and her family, I will be heading home in a few hours, and what a blessing the time has been for me to be able to spend time with our grandson Ben. Each morning we sit around the table at breakfast and read from the Bible, talk of what the Bible is saying, and then pray. Ben is two years old and there […]
Read James 5:17-18
Elijah prayed and the rain stopped for three years, there was not even dew on the ground in the morning. Then he prayed again and the heaven gave rain. The idea is not that Elijah prayed, God answered, and then he prayed again three years later. Elijah was a man of prayer, he prayed daily, he prayed often, he did what righteous men do, he prayed. So often today when men pray and God answers in the way […]
Read Jeremiah 33:1-3
The biggest obstacle in seeing prayers answered in this preachers opinion is a lack of real prayer in the people of God. I hear many times from people that God doesn’t seem to be answering their prayers and they don’t know why. I often wonder how much people pray oir how they pray. Jeremiah had a real relationship with the Lord and a real prayer life. He wept before God over the needs of people, over the needs […]
A little different this morning as I am away from my PC
Read James 5:14-20
We find many things concerning prayer in the Bible, one of them being that the “Prayer of faith shall save the sick” in James 5:15 This morning we are praying for one of our own at Cherry Corner, asking the Lord for His will to be carried out, our friend to be raised up. One thing we must always keep in mind is that God knows what […]
Ps 142:1-4 I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication. 2 I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.
3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. 4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know […]
Prov 1:5-9 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: 6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. 8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 9 For they shall be an ornament of […]
