Lam 3:22-26 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
KJV
Like most people I like new things. The problem with new things is that they never remain new, they turn into old things. I bought a new car in 1979, the first one I had ever bought. Not my first car, my first new car. How I took care of that car as I would wash the outside, keep the inside clean, even under the hood making sure I wiped up all the dust and such that comes with driving. But as time past I paid less attention to detail and my new car became what my other car had been, just a way of getting around. That should never be the case with salvation in Christ, His mercy, His compassion, His faithfulness, they are brand new every morning. I awoke in the night some hours ago and the first thing I did was talk to my Savior. I went back to sleep and when I awoke did the same. I don’t tell you that because it makes me a good Christian, but because my salvation is as new to me as it was over fifty years ago when I trusted Jesus to save me. I have never gotten over being saved and pray it never becomes old to me. If salvation in Christ does not seem new to you this morning try spending more and more time with the Lord and you will find something brand new everyday.
