2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Consider this morning His promise of assurance. It is very hard to find something you can be sure of today as leaders all around us change what they say and break promises daily. But not God and not His promise of assurance. We can know we are saved and have eternal life by His assurance. (Rom 8:15-16 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: ; 1 John 5:11-12 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. ; 2 Tim 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.) It seems many people today want to trace their ancestry, to see to whom they belong. The born again believer in Christ has no need to do that for they know to whom they belong and always will belong. Praise Him for His promise of assurance.
