Luke 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

All week we have looked at relationships wasted in the far country and this morning we look at that most important relationship restored. This parable is not about salvation lost and regained for the younger one was always a son to his father. The relationship wasted was a closeness with his father, a closeness the father desired and the son needed, but when the younger son left home and went into the far country he became far from his father as well. But note the father, always looking, always longing, always a desire to have that closeness restored and when he saw his son still a great way off he ran and kissed him. Whatever relationship one has wasted in the far country can be restored with just a turn back to where we know we need to be. Are you far from where you know you need to be today in you relationship with your heavenly Father? One turn back and you will find yourself once again in His loving embrace and that closeness restored. So thankful today for the unending love, mercy and grace bestowed on us by our heavenly Father.
