Neh 8:18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.
KJV
Yesterday a brief look at the first day in the Bible, this morning a brief look at the last day. The first mention of the last day found above points to the reading of the Word of God. Every other reference is found in the Gospel of John and points to salvation in Christ, the resurrection of those who die knowing Him as personal savior, and judgment of those who have rejected Christ and the salvation He alone provides through His shed blood on the cross. John 6:39 is the first time we find the phrase last day in the New Testament. (John 6:39-40 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.) John 12:48 is the last time the phrase last day is found. (John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.) Are you ready for the last day? Only if you know Jesus as your persoanl savior. Trust Him today.
