May 26th, 2026 by Pastor SolleyHeb 2:1-3 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

The word neglect is found only four times in the Bible, the last in verse three above. But for a word that is found so few times it carries Biblical truth that goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden and to the Great White Throne judgment of God. What happens when one neglects to follow what has been made so clear by God? Sin entered into the world and into the heart of every individual ever born by man because Adam neglected to follow God’s Word and obey God’s command. What has been made so very clear by God and in God’s Word must NOT be neglected. Jesus said that He is “The way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” What would happen if one chooses to neglect what Jesus said? Jesus said to a very religious man “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” What if Nicodemus chose to neglect the command to be born again? What happens when one neglects the “So great salvation” that is found in Jesus Christ? Sin is left unforgiven and judgment will follow. What might we be neglecting that we know God wants is to do, has made so very clear in His Word?
