Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
KJV
As we approach Memorial Day we will remember those who did serve and are remembered for their works in service for our nation. But that holiday has expanded in part to include all those whom have gone on before us and now rest from their labor in this world. Some in the military were awarded great honor in this world, some received those honors posthumously as the uncle I am named after did in WWII after giving his life at a very young age. (His Purple Heart is an award that I cherish as it has been passed on to me.) But one does not need be awarded to be remembered for service, just being faithful is enough. Will your works follow you? Will you be remembered for being faithful to your Lord and Savior? Will you receive rewards in heaven? Those are the greater rewards and awards and that is not to take anything away from those who served and serve our great nation, but there are greater things to be remembered for and it will be the highest award to be called blessed by our Savior in heaven. Are you born again today and will that be one of the things your are remembered for?
