1 Tim 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Much of this week has been devoted to being content with our lot in life and what God has blessed us with as believers in Christ. There is a constant battle within most people to want more than they have and Satan often brings that to the mind of the Christian, that while we have a lot there is more that can be added to our lot. When Satan does that we need to remember where great gain is going to be found, in godliness and the rewards of walking with Jesus. We can also remind Satan that there is a lot waiting for us in eternity and that we are on the winning side. When treasurers are being laid up in heaven it is easier to be content with our lot here in this world and all of us who know Jesus have been given a lot more than we ever would have without Him. There is a way to find great gain, to have a lot, but we find that only in the Lord Jesus Christ and in godliness. Remember the King of kings, the Lord of lords did not seem to have a lot in this world but will one day rule over all the world and see every knee bow before Him.
