April 22nd, 2026 by Pastor SolleyJohn 3:1-3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
KJV
Many today acknowledge the same things about Jesus did as the Pharisee in John chapter three and just like Nicodemus are not on the way to heaven. Nicodemus was religious, he knew Jesus was a teacher of truth, he knew Jesus was from God, he knew Jesus had the miracles to prove that, and he knew Jesus walked with God. We see all of that in the first two verses. But that head knowledge of Jesus and who Jesus is was not enough to get that man into heaven. Nicodemus need a spiritual birth to take place, Nicodemus needed to be born again. None of the knowledge of spiritual things we gain will take care of the sin problem in our lives. No amount of religion or religious practices will take care of the sin problem in our lives. Not even calling Jesus teacher, master, or the Son of God will take care of the sin problem in our lives. One must be born again and while all of the above leads to that point until and unless we come to Jesus for forgiveness of sin and salvation one is still in need as Nicodemus was. Everlasting life is offered to all. (John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.) But one is not taken from condemnation to new life in Christ until they are born again. (John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.) Be sure you are born again.
