Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Have you ever heard a knock at your door and thought you just didn’t want to answer? That you were just too tired to open the door, or that it was too late to open the door, or that you knew who it must be and didn’t want to let them in? How many times have you ignored a knock at the door? In our reading this morning if one does not open the first door they will never be permitted to enter the second door reading. The first door we must open to Jesus and allow Him to enter into our heart in salvation. He stands and knocks waiting for all to open that door, to look to Him and Him alone for forgiveness of sin and eternal salvation. After we have opened that door there is another door opened to us by Jesus, that door to heaven and He is the only one able to open that door. Jesus is knocking on your heart’s door this very day and it is a knock you have answered or a knock you continue to ignore but it is the most important knock you will ever hear. Don’t be too tired, too busy or think it is too late to open the door and let Jesus in for that knocking will not go on forever, there will come a time when the knocking stops. Then it will indeed too late to enter into the second door because you refused to open the first one. Answer the knock today.
