Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Gen 3:20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Gen 17:16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

This a friendly reminder that next Sunday is Mother’s Day. Above we find the beginning of the family and the important place of a Godly mother in the home. Like many who will read this my own mother has been gone for a long time now, coming up on twenty six years and like many who read this I am still following the teachings of mom that I was blessed with growing up in our home and then watching her example of faithfulness to the Lord over the years. Some of my earliest memories are of mom praying with us, reading the Bible to us, going into the house of God with mom as well as dad. The last memory of her I have is her reading her Bible and praying. The last day I was able to talk with my mother I found her in Bible reading and prayer when I entered my childhood home. We prayed together that day, we talked of the goodness of our Savior that day, we shed a few tears that day and later that day mom suffered a stroke. I praise my Lord today for the first memories I have of mom and the last memory I have of mom. Remember you mom come next Sunday, get something for her, thank her, and praise the Lord for Godly mothers which we will look at this week in the Word of God.
