17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
Have you ever received an invitation? An invitation to a birthday party, to a retirement party, to a wedding, to an anniversary party or the such like, have you ever received an invitation? No doubt there were some you looked for and waited for and others you didn’t care about so much. But when you receive an invitation you must do something with it. Answer yes or no, plan to go or not, when you receive an invitation you must do something with it. Above in an invitation from the Lord Jesus Christ, He is the certain man in the account and He is inviting many to come to a supper He has prepared. Now what to do with that invitation? How could anyone refuse an invitation from our Lord? What has Jesus invited us to do? Be saved for one and Jesus bids all to come to Him for eternal life. (1 Tim 2:3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.) Have all your burdens lifted off of you and receive peace and rest for another. (Matt 11:28-29
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.) To walk in His perfect will for another. (Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.) These invitations come from our Lord and extend to all. What will you do with the invitation? Tomorrow we will see what many have done with these invitations.
