Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

This is the last use of the word power in the Bible and what a blessed truth it sets before us, that the second death has no power over those who know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior. The thing that man fears the most, death, now has no power. Man fears the first death which is a physical death and man fears the second death which leads to an eternity in hell. But when one knows Jesus Christ there is no fear of the second death. Neither is there any fear of the first death for we know it will open to us our home in heaven. As a Christian I can truly say I have no fear of death, the first or the second. Jesus has taken that fear away. I do not want to die today but I am not afraid to die today. I recently had surgery and teased my wife that I could wake up not in the recovery room but in heaven and how much better that would be. While I was teasing her those words are so very true. Do you fear death today? Are you afraid to die physically? Is it because you are not ready and the second death is going to land you in hell? Look to Jesus Christ today for He alone in the way, the truth , and the life. Jesus can take away the power that death has over you for He has victory over sin and death. Look to Jesus today.
