Ps 77:1-5 I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
3 I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
4 Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
5 I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
KJV
What to do when one is so troubled they cannot not even speak? (Verse four above.) Here the Psalmist cannot escape from the troubles that have come into his life, there was no comfort to be found, he was overwhelmed. What to do? Consider the days of old, the ancient times the Bible says in verse five. Consider first how God has worked in the past as revealed in His Word. Angels were sent to comfort, protect and defend God’s people. Seas were parted for God’s people. The mouths of lions were stopped for the child of God. Fire had no power over three of God’s children. The sun was stopped in the sky and even went back ten degrees for God’s people. Remember the ancient times and remember that our God never changes. Then remember more recent times and what God has done for you. I could fill page after page writing down what my God has done for me. Remember, remember, remember, consider the days of old. Satan will always send days of trouble toward the child of God and our God will always be there to carry us through if we just stop and remember and continue to cry our to Him. (Verse one above.) Remember.
