Gen 6:13-15 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
KJV
Noah found grace and that grace moved Noah to a true and genuine saving faith in Jehovah God. Notice how that faith moved Noah to serve the Lord in building that ark. (Gen 6:22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.) No individual is saved by works
(Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;) So why then would Noah build that ark? If saved by grace through faith which Noah was then even if he perished in a flood he would go to heaven. Grace, faith and salvation came before he built that ark. Why then build the ark? Because true salvation moves one to obey the Lord that saved them. Saving faith moved Noah to a walk with Jehovah God. When was Noah saved or born again? We do not know. What we do know is that he had a Godly father and grandfather and they certainly would have raised Noah in a way that pointed him to the Lord. Has your claim of salvation moved you to walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, to obey the Lord Jesus Christ, to serve the Lord Jesus Christ? The answers to those questions will be yes when salvation is real in our lives. How do I know that Noah was truly born again? I need only to look at the record of the ark.
