8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Why are some called to be one thing, do one thing, and others called to something else? That is at the discretion of the Holy Spirit of God. (Verse 11) It has never been my desire to be a pastor or a preacher and it still isn’t. I am not saying I am doing something I detest, something that I hate doing week by week and day by day. I am just saying it has never been my desire. Why then go into the ministry? Because it was of the call and leading of the Holy Spirit. If you desire today to know what your spiritual gifts are, what you are called to do in service, be yielded to the Holy Spirit, given to the Word of God and much prayer and fasting. I know many men personally who were told by others they should be a minister, be a pastor and followed that advice. They have failed in the ministry, some have lost families, some fallen deep into sin and the reason being that they were never called by the Holy Spirit. My point being this morning that God does have something for you, has spiritual gifts for you that can be used in His service, but you must hear from God. Not all will be called and gifted in the same area to do the same thing, but all we who know Jesus Christ as personal savior will be called and gifted for service. To step into service today pray as you never have, fast as you can in prayer, a ask the Holy Spirit to lead you as well as to open doors of service. Then as He does don’t say no.
