Isa 40:9-10
9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Behold, the Lord God will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
KJV
The majesty of nature certainly declares the glory of God, especially the mountains. I have been in the Smokey Mountains National Park, and just last year is the southern Alps, and I cannot imagine how one can look at those mountains and not know that there is a God in heaven. Yet many people living in those mountains never consider God, never look to Him. In our text Israel was called to get up into the high mountain and behold God. Friend, many like Israel never look up to God, they never consider the God before them. Israel in the days of Isaiah was in a backslidden condition, apart from God. Perhaps it is time you went up and looked up, perhaps it is time for you to consider God.
