KJV
This is a well known fear not. Joseph was now in a position to return the treatment his
brothers gave him years before. Joseph was now the second most powerful man in the
most powerful nation in the world, whatever he said was law. Jacob had died, no loyalty
now had to be paid to his father. His brothers were afraid of what was about to happen.
But what of Joseph? “Fear not” were the words he gave to his brothers because Joseph
learned Romans 8:28 thousands of years before God gave it. All that had happened to Joseph God meant for good. Little of it seemed good at the time. Sold as a slave, lied about, cast into prison, forgotten and alone, none of it seemed good. But God was in control all of the time. As we allow God to control our lives, as we surrender all to Him, we also can tell others “Fear not.”
