After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
2 And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

There are a lot of “Fear not” in the Bible, I would like to look at a few of them this week. This is the first fear not found in the Bible given to Abraham. Abraham was beginning to worry about a promise made to him by God. In Genesis 12 God promises to make of Abraham a great nation. Now time has passed, more time than Abraham thought would before the promise was completed. God now calms the fears of Abraham with assurance that the promise would be kept, but in God’s time and not Abrahams. This first fear not tells us all we need to know about the promises of God. God always keeps His Word without exception. What God has promised God will do. Has God promised never to leave you? God will not. Has God promised answered prayer, it will happen. God always keeps His Word.
