Ps 85:10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Some of the shortest verses in the Bible hold the greatest truths in the Bible. Two things meet in this verse that have no reason to have ever met, mercy and truth. The truth is that God is righteous and man is a sinner. The truth is that God must judge sin and man must be punished. The truth is that God is holy and in heaven, man is bound for hell. The truth is that the two should never meet. But mercy comes in the love of God, mercy comes in the Son of God, mercy comes in the cross, and mercy comes in God giving man time to repent from sin a turn to Jesus Christ. Mercy comes in the free gift of salvation in Christ offered to each and every man, woman, and child. Praise God that Mercy and truth are met.
