17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
KJV
No one likes to suffer, go through hard times, bad times, be in trials. Yet we do find over and over suffering and glory together in the Bible. In our text this morning we find them side by side. In this world we will have tribulation, in the next we will have glory, why are they linked in the Bible? Because when we endure suffering in this world in the same way Jesus did, when we finish the course, when we keep our eyes on the prize set before us, when we keep a good testimony through the trials of life there are rewards laid up for us in heaven, Notice that verse 17 is future, verse 18 is present tense. Yes Christian we are going through much, but we also will receive much.
