18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
KJV
What if our homes are known as one where God is? What if our lives are seen as ones that honor and serve God? (Devotions Monday and Tuesday.)Who then receives the glory if that be true? Has God found some sort of super Christian, one who has been able to rise above the world, defeat Satan, conquer the flesh, has that one finally been found? Or is it that one has humbly yielded to the Holy Spirit within and is allowing Him to rule in their life, allowing Him to lead, allowing Him to make decisions based on the Bible in their life? The second is true my friend, not the first. Whatever we are in this world that pleases God, that brings honor to Him, is because of Him and in spite of us. That doesn’t build up your self esteem, but it is true. Today most people, including professing Christians, want to focus attention on self and not on God. But the Bible tells us we need give thanks, glory, and praise, to God for it is only through Him that we can do anything.
