14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
KJV
For the Christian in this world it is becoming increasingly important that we focus on the things that cannot be seen. (verse 18) Things that are seen are becoming very depressing. Another school shooting in KY, five killed in a shootout in PA, drugs and alcohol completely taking over society, prisons are filled, it is a very dangerous world we live in. Then the everyday problems of life that we all face and the enemy of our faith as well. What to do? We need to look at the things not seen. For example the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is present with us. (Verse 14) I can’t see Him, I can’t reach out and touch Him, He is unseen, but He is still with us. What did our Lord do for those who could see Him during His earthly ministry? He provided for them, He guided them, He comforted them, He encouraged them, He protected them and so very much more. Will He do the same for us today? When you begin to look at the things that are unseen you realize He is doing those things right now.
