5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
KJV
Another way to finding peace in this troubled world is found in one little word in verse nine, “Do”. But what was seen in Paul? Should we be politically active, socially active, work to improve the environment, save the abused animals, what should we be found doing? Paul was busy doing the work of the Lord, Paul was active for Christ, for Paul to live was Jesus Christ. We need to be active for the Lord, we need to be found doing the work of the Lord. Not everyone is going to be called into what has become known as full time service for the Lord, but all have been called to serve the Lord full time. Getting our minds and hearts on the work of the Lord, being active for the Lord will do wonder in getting our minds off ourselves and off our troubles. Don’t be so self centered in you want the peace and joy God has to offer, to find those things we need to be Christ centered. Try being a doer of the word and work of the Lord and see what that does to being a peace that goes beyond understanding for most people.
