14 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

What a day that will be when we have rest from our sorrow. (Verse 3) That is of course a day in the future, a day when we will put this world, our flesh, and Satan behind and stand with our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet we can find rest and peace even in this world today. We find these verses in the New Testament. (Phil 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.) This is not looking at a future time, it is for today. How can we find this peace, this rest in this world? The first step is to realize who you are and what you are if your are a born again believer. The Bible says to rejoice in the Lord. I can rejoice in the truth that I am a child of God, a Christian, that is who I am. I also know what I am, a stranger in this world just passing through. I have a better home waiting for me, a place not made with hands, a place in heaven. I am going to find peace and rest as I think of that this morning. I will not walk around all this day with my head in the clouds, there is much to do right now, right here. But when the troubles and trials of life begin to build I will remember who I am and what I am and that will bring me much peace. More tomorrow in peace and rest.
