Ps 40:12-15
12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.
13 Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me: O Lord, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
KJV
So many evils in this world, at times one does seem surrounded. That is not a question, it is a fact. Where do we turn for help? Family, friends, government, talk shows, therapy, where does one turn for help? The answer is in our text, turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for He alone has the answer for our needs. The Psalmist here asks the Lord to make haste, to come quickly to his aid and the Lord does answer that prayer. Friend, we all need help for this day, there are many evils surrounding us, where do we turn? Begin this day in prayer, asking for protection and guidance. Walk through this day in prayer looking up at each time of need. End this day in prayer thanking the Lord for His protection and provision. There is an answer for the evil that surrounds us.
