34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
KJV
A second step in entering into this place of perfect trust in the Lord is an outward daily walk with the Lord. Nothing will take the place of our private, secret walk with the Lord. But an outgrowth of that private walk is a public walk, a testimony for the Lord.
(Matt 6:9-17 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.11 Give us this day our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;) The model prayer does speak of outward actions, a life that people can see. I need that private, intimate relationship with the Lord, but there should be no secret Christians. Like the apostle Paul we are not to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ, not ashamed of the Lord, we are to live out our new spiritual life. How else can the lost see Jesus in this world? As I live for Him, walk with Him, it builds trust. This is not God trusting me, it is me trusting God and trusting Him to meet ever need of my life. I need that outward walk.
