26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:

We can rejoice this New Year because of the whosoever will of salvation as we noted yesterday.
Acts 2:23
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
We can also rejoice in the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God. I am not pointing to the false doctrine of Calvinism here, but God does have a will and God is aware of all that will take place in this coming year. Today I will drive about 250 miles, it is winter, it is cold, but there are things I must do in serving the Lord. God knew all about this trip before I ever dreamed I would be making it, knows all about the cold and the roads, knows what will take place today. I still have choices to make, I will decide to go or not, but I do know that God has this day in His capable hands and whatever takes place He alone is in control. Can I trust Him enough to allow Him to order my steps today and throughout this year? When that answer is yes then I can rejoice in all things knowing that He is in control of all that comes into my life in 2018. That doesn’t mean all will be good, but it does mean that all things will work together for good and His glory. That alone ought to cause me to rejoice.
