1 Sam 3:19-21
19 And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
20 And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord.
21 And the Lord appeared again in Shiloh: for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord.
KJV
Samuel was the last of the judges of Israel and the first of the prophets. He is one who played a very important role in the history of the nation and a man who served God faithfully his entire life. What was it that God saw in Samuel that He would choose to use him in such a way as He did? Note verse 19, Samuel “Let none of his words fall to the ground.” Some would say God was with Samuel and that brought Samuel to that place of service. Some would say God call Samuel and he had no choice but to serve. But the truth is that Samuel was faithful to God and to His word, that is why God used and blessed Samuel as He did. We have the same God before us today and the same Word as well. Do you feel the presence of God in your life, the leading of the Holy Spirit? Perhaps it is because you are not as faithful as Samuel in keeping His Word and that is why you don’t feel what Samuel felt.
