Eph 4:11-13
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

The word “Pastors” is found eight times in the Bible. Did you know that in only two of those places it is used in a positive way? Here in Ephesians 4 and in Jeremiah 3:15 the word is used in a positive way, the other four in a negative way. Why do I bring this up this morning? Because it is so important that one be given to a local Bible believing church, one who has a commitment to the Word of God and follows His Word. So many pastors today are leading people to go against the Word of God and not follow the Bible. This truth sobers me today, a scares me a little when I realize the importance of being a good example, of leading the right way, leading in a way that pleases God. What does this have to do with the person in the pew? We all are pastors in the sense that we lead. Parents lead in the home, teaches lead in schools, we even lead in the workplace, all are pastors in that sense. What type of pastor are you today? Because of your example are people being brought to Jesus Christ? Because of your example are believers made stronger in Christ, do they walk closer to Christ? If God were to call you a pastor, would it be in a negative or positive way?
