Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
KJB
There was no hope for Peter, he would die at the hands of a Satanic ruler, that was settled. What to do? The church went to prayer for Peter, prayer without ceasing. There was not a moment that someone was not praying for Peter. What was the outcome? God sent an angel to loose the chains that bound Peter, open the cell doors, and set him free. Prayer works my friend and in the same was today as prayer worked then. Why don’t we see these types of miracles today? Mainly because seldom sees that type of prayer today. When was the last time you really gave yourself to God in prayer, that you prayed without ceasing, that you fasted and prayed? If you can’t remember then it is possible that you very seldom see answers to prayers as they did then. We will have our prayer meeting this evening, the most important service of the week, and yet we will have the smallest number in attendance for the week. And then some who are indifferent to the prayer service will ask me why they don’t see prayers answered in their lives as some others do.
