2 Tim 3:1
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
KJB
We certainly are see this prophetic Scripture fulfilled right before our eyes. Mass murders in schools, at concerts, in work places, and now in churches, there are perilous times. What can be done about it? I can tell you that the answer is not in government, not in gun control, not in opening our borders to our enemies, not in throwing money at it, not in legalizing drugs, not in any of the things our liberal politicians tell us and not in anything our liberal churches tell us either. But there is an answer and we find that in the words of Jesus. (Matt 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.) Too many times we as Christians hear about these things and then go about our business as if nothing ever happened. Believe me the people in that small Texas town are not going about business as if nothing happened and neither should we. We need to be turning more and more to God in prayer, giving more and more of ourselves to God in prayer. There are many situation in our little church that demand the prayer of God’s people. People dealing with illness, with varied problems and God’s people need to be in prayer. And then we have the dangerous times in which we live coupled with a corrupt nation turning its back on God and dead churches encouraging their people to do anything but pray. There is only one cure for what we see today and that is prayer, but are we willing to take the time and pay the price to pray? Can we get up fifteen minutes earlier to pray, can we turn off the TV or smart phone and give that time to pray? Or will we go on today as if nothing can ever happen to us or to our loved ones, that what happened yesterday in Texas can never happen to us or in our area. I can’t say if it was a praying church or not in Texas before yesterday, but I know those poor people are praying today. Let us begin to pray anew and afresh and in greater ways than we ever have before for those folks, for our nation, and for ourselves, let us follow what Jesus said and begin to turn the tide in prayer.
