10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
KJV
This same Jesus. Think of how people treated Him the first time Jesus came into this world. They denied who Jesus is, they mocked Him, they accused Him of being demon possessed, they asked Him to leave their cities, they tried to kill Him, even Mary and Joseph’s children did not believe on Him. Finally they falsely accused Him, beat Him, and turned Him over to Rome to be crucified. Then He was beaten again, scourged, mocked, and taken to the cross where He shed His blood, suffered and died. Then they denied His resurrection and threatened any who preached in His name. That was the first advent of Christ and now He is coming again one day. He is coming in like manner the Bible says. (Verse 11) But Jesus will not be treated in the same manner as He was the first time, the Second Coming will be much, much different. The Holy Spirit gave Paul these words concerning the treatment of Christ the second time He comes into this world.
(Rom 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. ; Phil 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.)
What a day that will be my friend, when we bow before Him with all of creation, the angels singing His praises and every man, woman, and child confessing Him to be Lord of all. I asked a young man recently who Jesus is and his answer was “He is the God of everything.” One day all will acknowledge just that, better to do it now.
