September 8th, 2017 by Pastor SolleyJer 20:7-9 O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.

Jeremiah was in a very low state at this point in his ministry and life and there is something that catches my eye in verse seven. Had the Lord deceived the prophet? No. If you look at the call of the prophet in Jeremiah chapter one you find that the Lord had revealed to Jeremiah the way his message would be received. Jeremiah had not been deceived at all. Many times today we feel as if the Lord has deserted us, left us alone, deceived us. But we must remember that in this world we will have tribulation and that God has not deserted us, has not left us, but sustains all through this life while we wait for His sure return. Jeremiah had not been deceived and neither are we.
