2 Tim 4:1-2 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
KJV
I am asked quite frequently what the problem with the church is today and I believe the answer lies in verse two of our reading this morning. As Paul instructed this young pastor in how to lead the flock of God his first order of business was to “Preach the Word.” Most Bible colleges today as teaching men how to be social directors, psychologist, school principals, but few are teaching men to be preachers of the Word of God. At the same time people are no longer hungering for the Word of God, they would rather have the social things, the man to sooth their egos and minds without getting to the root of their problems and so on and so forth. As the preaching of the Word has disappeared from pulpits, as the hunger for that Word has disappeared from the desire of professing Christians the church has gone more and more into a walk with the world. What is your desire today? Do you really ant the Word of God? When most professing Christians desire the Word above the world we will se the church once again revived. Will revival begin in you?
