27 For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him:
28 Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.

There is a remarkable thing revealed about Samuel in these verses. Hannah was a spiritual woman, she prayed for and was given Samuel, then she “Lent him to the Lord”. When Samuel was taken to the tabernacle to serve the Lord he was between five and eight years of age. Take note of what the Bible says about him in verse 28, “He worshipped the Lord there.” The he is Samuel, a young boy, perhaps as young as five, no older than eight, yet he was given to worship. This is not going to Sunday School or church, not going to junior classes, this is a heart given to God at such a young age. Is that still possible? Of course it is, God has not changed, the Spirit has not changed, of course it is possible. Yet today we see adults who claim to be saved and they do not nor have they ever entered in a life of worship. What is the difference? Too many distractions today, too many sports, too many hobbies, too many smart phones, too much face book, too many distractions today. Track your day today and see how many things are necessary like work, family time and so on that need to be a part of your day, and see how many unnecessary things are taking time away from the Lord.
