Dan 6:8-10 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

You can tell a great deal about Daniel from his prayer and prayers. It does not tell us what specifically Daniel prayed for in this passage, but noting just a few things. Daniel was consistent in prayer. Three times a day he would stop and spend time with God in prayer. These would not be hurried prayers, but times of intimate conversations with God. Daniel also made giving thanks a part of his prayer time. What did he have to give thanks for here? The decree being signed prohibiting him from prayer would be one thing. Daniel gave thanks in all things as we are commanded to do in the New Testament. Daniel also prayed for those who stood against him I believe. What better way to have victory over his enemies than to see them get saved. Daniel would also pray for his deliverance from this trial I am sure. God looks for the same things from us in prayer today. We need to be consistent in prayer, to come before the Lord often in prayer. We are to be thankful in all things. We need to pray for the lost and for the enemies of the cross. And we need to pray for our own needs as well. How closely do you follow the example of Daniel in prayer?
