Heb 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
KJV
The two verses above establish that God never changes, that God, Jesus Christ is unchangeable, the same forever, for eternity. Why then does man take it upon himself to try and change God? (Rom 1:21-25 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.) As you can see this is not a new venture of man, it is an old one, trying to change God to meet man’s agenda and ideas. Israel in the Old Testament changed the place and manner of worship, the Pharisees changed the importance of the Bible and replaced it with traditions they established. Man is trying to change God today in different ways. Lets replace God’s Holy Word with bible better suited to our modern world, lets replace God honoring music with the devil’s music and call it contemporary, lets change God’s holy standard for living and replace it a modern way of doing things. Man is seeking to change God today and it seems successful. But look back at history, at what happened when man tried to change God, look at the judgment that fell on Israel and the Pharisees. It is a dangerous thing to try and change God. Don’t try and mold God into your image, be molded into the image of God.
