Ezek 22:30-31 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.
KJV
What type of man is God looking for? With Father’s Day on Sunday that is an appropriate question. Yesterday we saw that we are to quit, or finish like a man, but what type of a man? To understand this more fully we need to look at a composite man in the Bible and I want to start with a man named Enoch. Enoch is found four places in the Bible and in the very first place he is found we find the most important thing about him, that Enoch walked with God. (Gen 5:22) That is the first thing that God looks for, a man who will walk with Him on a daily basis. Enoch did other things as well. Enoch had a family and according to the book of Jude he was also a preacher and a prophet. But Enoch walked with God, day in and day out, morning and night, in good times and in bad, Enoch walked with God. Are you walking with God today? Will you speak to God before you start this day, will you consider God’s Word as you go about your day, will you talk with Him throughout your day, are you one that walks with God? When God looked for one who would walk with Him in Ezekiel 22, He found none. Can God count on you to walk with him today?
