John 6:5-9 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,
9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
KJV
Not only are children important to the Lord, but they can be used greatly in the world of the Lord. There was a lad, a young boy, who presented what he had to Jesus, and what did Jesus do with the little that boy had? He fed a multitude. God doesn’t want great things from us, just what we are able to give, and God will do great things with that. Often it takes the simple faith of the young to see that and God rewards that faith. Never think one too young to join in the service of the Lord. Instead of telling them to wait to they are older to serve, join in their enthusiasm for service, join them in their willingness, join them in serving the Lord. What if Andrew had pushed that lad aside with his small offering of the fish and loaves?
