Luke 18:15-17 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
KJV
It amazes me today, the attitude of parents when it comes to their children and Jesus, their children and church. With all that the world gives to children, and precious little of it any good at all, with all the trouble surrounding the youth of today, why parents don’t want to bring them to the Lord. Parents are willing to run their children anywhere at anytime to play in a game, to cheer for a team. Kids are in baseball, softball, soccer, cheerleading, football, all from the youngest ages, but they never have time for church or Jesus. What does it gain them? Broken homes and shattered lives later on, drug and alcohol addiction, times of depression some never get out of, time in jail for some as well. It gets them empty lives, troubled lives. Perhaps not all but that is the road most parents place their children on today. Does Jesus have something better for them? Yes He does! Why not then bring them to the Lord and see? I share this because we have out Vacation Bible School next week and I wonder how many will make sure their children are there? We have in during the day so it will not interfere with little league baseball or softball, not with cheerleading, not with midget football, not with any of the activities they are involved in. Yet I know parents will run their children to those things in the evening and say they just don’t have time to get them to church in the morning. I wonder what those things will do for their children hat Jesus can’t? I know what Jesus can do for them that world never can.
