31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.

It is important to “Come apart” from time to time so one does not come apart at the seems. We are doing something like that the next two days at Cherry Corner, coming apart for a two day Bible conference. We will not be resting, but listening to sound preaching from the Word of God and looking for that to charge our batteries so to speak. That time of coming apart is needed daily in our lives, a time to get apart and alone with the Lord, to speak to Him in prayer and allow Him to speak to us through His Word. Many times I find this hard to maintain in my Christian life, and if I do perhaps others do as well. It demands we purpose our heats in this area, be determined, and be diligent in guarding this times with the Lord. The disciples were excited about what was happening in their lives, but Jesus knew they needed this time apart and alone with Him. We need it even more in our day, but how much of our day is devoted to the reading of His Word, to prayer, and meditation upon the things of God? Do you need to be refreshed spiritually? Start by coming apart to be with Jesus.
