Ex 28:36-37 And thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE Lord.
37 And thou shalt put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.
KJV
The priest in the Old Testament used to wear as part of his garments and mitre upon his head and on front of it was the phrase “Holiness to the Lord.” It let everyone know he was the priest and that he had a holy and separated walk. Sad to say that the walk of the priest did not always measure up to what it and he were to be. The Christians wears no sign today to tell the world that he or she is set apart, that we are a part of a spiritual priesthood set apart to the Lord Jesus Christ. How then can they know? We are to live in such a way that people know we are different, that we are set apart, that we are part of that spiritual and royal priesthood. Well, how did you measure up yesterday? How will you measure up to that walk of holiness to the Lord? If you went to court today would there be enough witnesses called to convince judge and jury that you are a Christian, that you have a holy walk? Or could enough rebuttal witnesses be called to put that in doubt? The priest wore that upon his head and the people believed what it said, what do people believe about you by the life you live?
