Ps 35:1-2 Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help.
KJV
Our shield is one we need take hold of. It would do little good for a soldier to let his shield behind when they went into battle. They could have a shield, but to leave it behind would leave them open to attack and danger, they had to take hold of that shield and lift it up in battle. So many who profess to know Jesus Christ as savior today have fallen in the spiritual battle because they did not take hold of their shield. We know the shield is there, but we leave it behind when we step onto the battle field of the world. Friend, you need to take hold of that shield and walk with Jesus all day ever day of your want protection from the enemies of our faith. Take hold of that shield in prayer, in the reading of His Word, let it guide your actions, words and thoughts throughout the day, take hold of your shield. You will then find that the shield becomes your buckler as well. What is a buckler? It was what fastened all the pieces of armor together. You will find that you are held together by lifting up, by taking hold of your shield. Start today, each day by holding onto that shield, hold onto the Bible, hold onto prayer, hold onto the shield.
