KJV
Here we see the shield in two ways, as a protection or help and also as a weapon. We will never know this side of heaven the help we are given day by day by our shield, the Lord Jesus Christ. Yesterday afternoon we were in Altoona for a doctors appointment and then had o stock up on a few things. Some bad storms went through the area and it turns out that those storms went through at the same time we were indoors and not on the twisty and winding roads home. As we came home we saw trees down, power lines down and the like. We were protected and did not even realize it at the time, our shield protected us. Our shield also takes the fight to the enemy. The only time I can think of a shield being used as a weapon would be of the soldier lost his sword, or speak, and had only the shield left to take the fight to the enemy. That is a fitting picture for we find victory over our spiritual enemy, over our flesh, over the world when we depend fully on our shield. What a blessed place to be, what a blessing it is to be covered by our shield.
